I used to be a star football player in high school and was pretty good in college (queue Al Bundy jokes here) and I used to be a weight room junkie. I had ripped abs, big muscles and I could run incredibly fast, but now I get winded going up the stairs, my back and knees hurt all the time and my belly is so big I can barely see my feet.
Needless to say things have changed!
My friends used to call me Wolf but now I feel like a shell of my former self... the wolf is trapped inside an old fat man (which is how I got this blog name in case you were wondering). So now is the time I need to do something about it.
Here's my plan
First, I'm going to hit the gym again. I used to live in the gym and I loved it so I just need to drag my butt back in there. I'm too fat to go for long runs so I'll just start walking, better than nothing I guess right? I'll mix in some weights when I get more energy but for now I need to drop the fat.
Speaking of which I need to go on a diet. I've seen really good studies about the medifast diet and I saw some good medifast coupons so I'm thinking about giving that a shot. We'll see though, I don't know if I want to do something like that but I guess studies don't lie so it's a good thought. I may just go the salad instead of steak and potatoes route instead which might be easier to follow. Maybe Weight Watchers too, we'll see though... sounds a little girly for me.
Once I get in shape I want to start doing some marathon running. Nothing big but a bunch of my friends at work do a local marathon here and it looks like a lot of fun but the wolf needs to stand his big fat ass on the sidelines and watch everyone because he needs to lose weight to even walk that far let alone run it. That is my goal and I'm going to remind myself of that whenever I get the urge to eat a pint of ice cream or have a large pizza all to myself.
So that is my goal, wish me luck and help keep me motivated. I'm going to lose this weight and "free the wolf" that is stuck inside this big fat man!
